Our family to Maine and Fish River Lodge was one of the most memorable we have had. After driving 1500 miles from South Carolina with four kids (ages 6, 6, 10 and 13) we were ready for a relaxing week. However it was much more than relaxing, it was fun and rewarding. The kids spent most of the time in canoes, in the lake, or up at the lodge visiting Kathy and Jim and playing bumper pool. We had hoped to see a Maine moose, but actually saw two. The kids were almost as excited as we were. We also had an opportunity to canoe beside a small deer as she swam across the lake near our cabin. The sound of the Loons in the evening, and the evening visit of "Mama" Duck and her ducklings are also memories we won't soon forget. In addition to the beautiful lake, the wildlife, the clean rustic cabin, the most memorable and important thing about Fish River Lodge is the people. As we think and talk about our summer vacation to Maine, we have often said to each other, I bet they are sitting around the campfire, looking at the stars, hunting for moose or just sitting around enjoying life.

Thank you for a great week. My wife and I would recommend your place to everybody. The food was great and the cabins and your location terrific. I enjoyed my hunting experience greatly. We are talking about coming back next year for another week of hunting. Thanks again for a great week !

I wanted to take a minute to let you know what a great hunt myself and my hunting buddy Kim had at your lodge. We had a two day ride back home and all we could talk about was our hunt and what a great time we had. The lodge was great and the meals and hospitality were fantastic. You went out of your way to make us feel like one of the family. I felt like I had known you all my life. I have been on a few hunts in other parts of the country and Canada and I can say without a doubt I have not seen anyone work as hard as you do to make the hunt a success. I told my wife if I am ever missing the first place to look for is The Fish River Lodge. She will probably find me sitting on the porch in the rocking chair talking hunting with whoever will listen. Thanks again for a great hunt. Oh, ya! Thanks for helping bag my 1st black bear. I will send you a photo of the rug when I get it back Thanks again.

This past September I booked a hunt at Fish River Lodge. It included my two sons (adults) and my brother in law. Upon arrival we were greeted and immediately felt as though we were welcomed family. Our cabin was neat and clean and spacious for all four of us to sprawl out. The meals were exceptional and plenty of it for return visits. Both of my sons got their bears the first night. They enjoyed many activities such as sight seeing and fishing through the week. By Thursday my brother in law had taken his bear. Now it was up to me. Believe me when I say they went beyond the call to get me my bear. Unfortunately, the weather changed and it was not to be.

If you are reading this you are probably looking to schedule a hunt for yourself. Believe me I made 10's of phone calls and it can be difficult to gauge a hunt by a conversation over the phone. This is one time we made the right decision 100%. If you're looking for an opportunity for a successful hunt and knowledgeable people to help you out, you won't go wrong with Fish River Lodge.

One more thing. It is absolutely beautiful country up there.

Hunting from this camp for more than 15 years. Rustic cabins, clean and fully equipped on a beautiful lake on the edge of wilderness. If you go to bed hungry,(shame on you), the food is great and plenty of it. Friendly atmosphere and very helpful. Besides all of this, the hunting and fishing is great up here. Third generation now going up.
