  Registered Maine Guide School

As the license is not easily obtained, so it must be understood that the distinction of wearing "the patch" should not be taken lightly. It is a symbol with an honorable history.

Fish River Lodge, located at Eagle Lake, Maine, has contracted with Lila and Carroll Ware (Fins and Furs Adventures and Guide School) to offer registered Maine Guide training. Carroll and Lila Ware are some of Maine's most respected instructors in the field with over 25 years of combined experience. They will work to prepare students in this course to confidently enter the state's testing process for licensing Maine Guides. As Master Maine Guides themselves, they understand the business of guiding and believe it is unlikely anyone can be "taught" to be a guide; that is something that comes from the heart. The class format available through Fish River Lodge is four days, beginning Thursday, at 8:00 a.m. through Sunday at noon. The course is limited to 8-15 participants so sign up early since these classes typically fill fast!

You can visit our instructor's web site at: www.finsandfursadventures.com to learn more about Lila and Carroll and their guide services.

Dates for our 2008 class:
Wednesday April 30, 2008 at 4:00 pm through Sunday, May 4, 2008 at noon.

Cost
$625 per person (includes instruction, lodging, and meals from Wednesday dinner, April 20, through Sunday breakfast, May 4). A $300 non-refundable deposit is due when you sign up to insure your space in the course. Balance is due upon arrival.

Material Covered
Using written materials from the state, as well as information developed over 17 years of instruction, students are prepared for the hunting, fishing and/or recreation license classification test.
